Can anyone tell me if staring seizures(petit mals) are dangerous in toddlers?

Answers:
petit-mal seizures are a small electrical misfiring within the neurons it isn't life threatening the only concern is if he would fall while playing . this being if they 're in the middle of climbing ect. .there also accompanies a warning or aura. there are certain things that can trigger a seizure lights. certain sounds or sometimes but rarely certain movements the drug treatment today are usually short termed. if it can be controlled at an earlier age a 5 year cycle of drug therapy can correct this in many cases and they sometime out grown it

Other Answers:
All seizures are brain-related. Talk to your doctor and any and ALL specialists you can find!! Don't stop asking questions till you're confident you've been heard!!

Any seizure activity needs to be followed up. Please have your child see a neuroologist (a pediatric neurologist, if you can find one).

Good luck.

Since a toddler is too young to drive, it's not as if he could get in an accident and hit someone. My concern would be if he were playing outside and climbing a jungle gym and had a seizure and fell and hit his head. Best probably to take him to a neurologist. Are you sure they're absence seizures?
