My 2yr old son grits his teeth REALLY bad at night. Any ideas why?
Answers:
When my son was almost three, he started to grind his teeth at night. I asked the Dr. about it, he said that it was to much brain stimulation before he went to bed. Two hours before bed I started to slow things down. I played soft music, gave him a warm bath, and read him a bedtime story. The entire time I tried to keep things calm and gave him little stimulation, he slowly quit grinding his teeth. It won't get better over night, but it will get better, for both of you.

you need to call the doctor. he might be having night dreams.
Well give your son a teething ring ummm.....have him suck on a teether
Could be stress, take him to a dr.
My friend does that when he sleeps and it sounds horrible! He doesnt even know hes doing it. I would say its kinda like snoring. I would get a mouth gard (like the hockey players or boxers wear) or something to prevent it cause hes gonna wreck his teeth.I would take him to the dentist. My brother grits his teeth and as a teenager had to wear a mouth piece at night so he wouldn't ruin his teeth. My daughter grits her teeth when she is overly tired. I really don't know why both of my kids do the same the dentist told me that they have some kind of teeth protector that you can putted at night to protect their teeth, because you can crack your teeth and malformed your gums. Something like that just talk to your dentist.
Give him half a bottle of chamomile tea, sweetened, before putting him to bed, it could help him to have a better sleep, and it's not going to cause any harm to him.
take him to the dentiat the will fit him with a device that he wil wear when he sleeps to stop thatMy child had the same issue. It is very common for kids to do this. Try to keep him calm and happy before he goes to sleep. It may not go away until he gets older. My daughter is 5 now and she is finally stopping. Hang in there, it will go away, you may have to wait. I did that when i was young, and my mom would put wax (the kind you can eat) and make it real soft than put it on my back teath so it would make nosiy... and dont worry i grew out of it.
so does my step bro we got him a retainer thing
hold him, love him, comfort him and soothe him so he will feel safe, it sounds like he may be nervous about sleeping. Make his room safe, surround him with toys in his room, pleasant pictures, warm colors and a nightlight.Consult his doctor, he could have parasites, that's very common in little children.
