What's a good birthday present for a little boy turning one?

My daughter is invited to a birthday party for a little boy turning one and I'm clueless as to a gift.

Answers:
For kids turning one, I often give them a toy cellphone. I always noticed that my nieces and nephews when they were that age were obsessed with their mom's cellphone or cordless phone and always wanted to play with it, so I thought they'd love having their own! I look for one that looks sort of realistic and makes noises when you push the buttons. All the kids I've given toy phones to loved them right away!

Other Answers:
a stuffed animal or clothes

Boys love cars, and nething bright and colorful. You can get one that is age appropriate Just get him a little toy or clothes. When they're 1 the kid's themselves don't really care. Happy with anything.

Something that he can push or pull. Nothing to expensive but fun. Noisy too.

i think a good present would be a toy car with lots of sounds and lights to get attention or something educational

A gift certificate geared toward a baby or children's store. Get a toddler swing...it's like $15.00 at walmart, it can hang from just about anything and is good up to 3 years old.

Something like lego..

a ball

Anything that can help with the child's development. Anything Baby Einstein is wonderful! Or how about a toy that the child can use while standing up or while learning to walk. Fisher Price has some good ones. You, too, can never go wrong with books. Lots of options!

You can get one of those wood puzzles with big shapes or cars.
You can get a big dump truck (Target has them for $10.00).
You can get a stuffed animal.
You can get one of those cellphone toys or other toys that has buttons, sounds, numbers, etc.
Fisher Price little people sets

lots of options from $3.00 to $30.00 or more.

good luck,

I like the board books for "Goodnight Gorilla" and "Dear Zoo". Most kids love animals and it's never to early to read to kids. Outfit, sippy cups, a hat for the summer time, swim suit, bath toys, maga lago, shampoo, bubble bath. You could make a Basket with some bath stuff and afew toys.

No stuffed animals, it will just end up collecting dust.

our son just turned 2 but for his first b day he got the play mower that pushes out bubbles. he still splays with it it was around 12 $ and comes with bubbles. he was not excited about any of his clothes that were gifts but they were appreiated. He's a baby, completely clueless as to his B-day party. Get him something his parents will be thankfull for....clothes. Get him a cute outfit. It shouldn't be more than 20-30 dollars!

my son got two toys for his first birthday that i love and he still plays with them. you can get them at wal-mart or pretty much anywhere that sells toys. they are both under 20 bucks.

one is a plastic wagon that comes with the oversized lego blocks. he loves pushing and pulling it around. it's great for learning to stack and pulling apart.

the other is a ball shooter toy called the busy ball popper. it plays different music and pops plastic balls up in the air. of course, toddlers like to put all different kinds of toys in to see if they'll pop up. it requires batteries, so that's an added cost.
