Not at all I work at a daycare and plenty of the kids have what seems to be ADVANCED languistics when really it's just normal for a child who spends more time with thier parents then thier TV.

Yes-but it doesn't mean that he will be gifted. I spoke in complete sentences when I was 2 but I still had a learning disability not diagnosed til later. My parents were really bummed because they thought I was some kind of prodigy or something (LOL). My advice is to not treat him as "gifted" but as any other child.
My daughter is 15 months and she does most of what you said ..............sentences and all ................. in the end we all learn to talk and continue to talk , talk , talk . Kudos to you as a parent though , you must read to him a lot . My daughter speaks as clear as you or I .She started at 7.5 months She uses words like "aggressive" and "umbrella " my favorite is "ladybug " just to mention a few . She is prococious and it sounds like your son is too . I think some kids do just develop sooner ........not smarter per say .........it's too soon to tell . just keep emerging him in wonderful , creative play !! Enjoy your beautiful boy !

No, i don't think your son is a genuis, he is just advanced inhis speech, some kids start talking earlier than other but eventually they all catch up!
My daughter is 2 1/2 she is like your son. Her vocabulary is amazing. People always tell me she speaks extremely well. I guess she just spends so much time with me and I never baby talk to her. My son who is 6 was doing the same by 18 months. he now is very mature and talks like an adult.he seems much older than 6. This is a gift and just go with it.
I think he is doing very well! Certainly above average in the normal spectrum. You are clearly giving him lots of opporunity to hear language and that can make a big difference. I wouldn't say he was 'advanced' though.
