what would be symptoms of acid reflux in a 1 yr old?

Answers:
my cousin was going through this with her little boy, at the time I already had 2 boys of my own, so she would call for advice, and I could hear the baby screaming in pain, just crying and crying, I got her to take the baby to her pediatrician after she had finally gotten exhausted enough to go, and she was told the baby had acid reflux, when she described the baby's symptoms to me every other day it was the same thing, fussiness, crying non-stop, vomiting--not spitting up after every meal, I told her I felt it was acid-reflux, I'm glad she took the baby to the doc., beforehand she thought it was to much iron in his milk so she switched to this and then tried that.......it is a very serious issue, her baby was malnourished because by now everything the baby was trying to take in came right out, and he had some damage to his esophagus by the time she took the baby to the doc, I am not trying to scare you but I would rather be on the safe side and have the baby checked out

spitting all the time, and/or crying when put him on the bed flat

Child cries in pain. spitting up all the time after eating or drinking. sore throat, won't eat, crying all the time,(it is painful). If you even suspect you child has this you should take them to the doctor right away. In small children this is a very serious problem.

My boys both had acid reflux and some of their symptoms were fussiness, acting like they are uncomfortable, not able to sleep well lying flat and discomfort after eating.

Hope this helps.

Two boys. . . 2 years and 5 months

If you suspect your child has acid reflux, take him/her in to see the doctor. This is a serious problem in very young children and can even cause an accute fear of eating, which is extremely hard to remedy. my son had this before they had a name for it. he would drink a bottle and puke the whole thing up right away. he gagged easily, crying would make him throw up. hes now 14 and all is good. it will pass even though it is hard! good luck!
