3 Year old in Preschool?

My daughter just turned 3 a couple days ago and her daycare provider says she is smart enough to be enrolled for 2 hours a day....Do you think it is too soon?

Answers:
It's never too early to start your child in school. I was an Au Pair in Belgium and their children start school at three. In England where My Husband is stationed currently the children there start at age 4, they finish at 16 and then go to a two year trade school. Most ( men and women ) have to do mandatory military service as well... We are one society who is way behind in education.
In Belgium they have two native languages in the country French and Flemish, the children there have to learn those languages plus a mandatory two more. Give your daughter the benefit she deserves. She may surprise you.. she can probably go longer than two hours, most kids have resilience that we once had at their age... Good luck !! Enjoy every step of her journey and help her enjoy it. If she learns at an early age to enjoy school, she will remain committed to it. I did.

Other Answers:
No it is not too soon. It is a great experience for them.

i thought the average age should be 4 my mom put me in preschool when i was 3.later though they held me back in 6th grade.but go for it.then again i started kindergarden at 4 so that is also different, and i didnt apply myself until i realized school mattered

absolutely....it will add to her development and she will learn to play well with others...BUT is the daycare provider also the preschool person?

No way is it too soon. I had my daughter enrolled 2 days a week for a half day preschool last year when she turned 3. She'll be going 3 days a week this school year and she can't wait! Find a little church program for your daughter, she will have a blast! Good luck.

It is NEVER too soon to guide our children into better paths!

give it a try for a few months and see how it's working for you both.
In my experience, the majority of "trouble children" out there, are smart children that are bored with standards--that they supersede!

Good luck!

Go for it! My son started school a little early because he was so smart. He skipped a few grades as the years went by. We were concerned about his size being a problem with older kids, but it wasn't a problem at all since he was going to a private church school.

He turned 18 in May. In June he graduated both highschool and collage with his Associates of Arts degree.

No way....she will be happy to see others of her age group and learn to share, play with toys. It will also give u some time to yourself which is very important. Sometimes its just guilt that stops us fm doing the best no - early education is very good.

Not at all. Where I live, a child can go to preschool at age 3 if potty trained for a full day with a nap. The full day is 6 hours.

No. It is never to early to learn. She'll have fun and save you a few bucks too.
