What are appropriate play activities for a 3 year old boy?

My friend is having a psychologist come over to his house (as part of a custody evaluation). The psychologist will observe him interacting with the child for one hour. What do you recommend?

Answers:
Hey there,
Well my mom is a professional babysitter, so i have grown up with little kids. Three year olds are soo active and fun to be around. This is what i reccomend
*Toys: Toys are always the best thing for young kids to play with because it shows that they are friendly, that they can share and also that they know how to enjoy some things
*TV: A lot of the little kids my mom babysits love TV. Shows such as: The Wiggles, The Doodle-Bops, Barney, TellyTubbies, etc are a big hit. The Wiggles i recomend most, because some kids actually stand up and dance along.
*Music could keep them going as well.
*If it is allowed, the park might be the best place for the kids to play.

I wish you the best of luck and hope all goes well
-Sana!
He should do as usual or the psychologist will catch on that something isn't quite right.

Provide at least one reason why the friend doesn't know proper activities already and I might be able to help better.
play with blocks or little action figures, something that uses a little bit of imagination. puzzles are good, because they help to recognize basic shapes and stuff (educational). and of course reading books are always good too.

but why does your friend need ideas and regular activities for a three year old boy? maybe THAT is the real question here...
If they do something that they aren't used to doing the psychologist will probably pick up on it. Its best to do what he normally does with the child. Whatever kind of toys the child is in to just play normal and tell him to pretend no one else is there.
