Age for toddler beds?
Answers:
The "books" say about 18 months. We needed the crib for the next baby, so we put our son in a toddler bed at 15 months. We had this net guard rail that slid under his mattress, that helped alot. We got it at target.

ages 3 to 4 cause my baby sis is almost 2 and she still is to small
My daughter was about 2 before we put her in the toddler bed and we didn't remove the side until much later. My baby is 2 and she has been sleeping in since the day she turned 2. She fell the first night but then realized what she had to do to stay on the bed. And now she does fine!
It's too early. A good age is closer to two or two &a half. A littler one can get stuck when they roll over. And the side gates are generally not covering enough of the egdes for a one year old. Who generally moves around more than a two year old. To be safe I say wait until they are a little older.
I have two boys and when they started climbing out of the crib is when I got toddler beds. Toddler beds usually come with a side rail that you can attach to the bed and can remove when you feel that they don't need it anymore. It's not a full rail but a half of one (it 's not the length of the bed). You can buy a bed rail that leaves a gap for children to crawl out of. That is what we did to our crib. My big question was, if my child gets up in the night will she hurt herself while I'm asleep? Luckily, I have a noisy child, and the baby moniter alerted me to any middle-of-the-night excursions. Get ready for some bedtime struggles as your toddler hops out of bed at will. It took us about three days of putting our daughter back in bed time after time before she got the point. Good Luck! My son was 15 months old when we moved him to a toddler bed. Toddler beds aren't very high so if they fall out it shouldn't be much of a drop. Make sure you use the railings for the side to prevent that. My daughters were about the same age when we put them into a toddler bed. Its always a challenge keeping them in there. Baby monitors work wonders for curious children, be sure to keep one on so you can hear your little one in the middle of the night. In daycare children stop sleeping in a crib at 12 months so you may be a little early but it's not going to hurt the child, it will just be a challenge for you. Good Luck.
We started putting our daughter in a toddler bed at 23 months because we needed the crib for our son. I think they suggest you move to a bigger bed when they start climbing out of the crib. So you could probably wait until your son starts trying to climb out. Good luck!
They should stay in the crib until they can climb out. Is the bed high off the ground? You need to get a railing then.2 my oldest son was in a twin bed with a side rail at 11months. My youngest was in his twin bed at 11 1/2 months. We took the rails off when they were 14-15 months old and neither has ever fallen out of bed. they are now 5 1/2 and 4.
When the baby tries climbing out of the crib. You don't want your little one to climb over & fall out of the crib.I switched my girls to a toddler bed when they were around 2.
It just depends on your child and when you feel comfortable with it. Both my sons started to crawl out of their cribs a little over a year old. I felt more comfortable putting them in a bigger bed so if they did fall out they weren't falling so far. I would take some pillows and lay them on the ground next to the bed. So when they did fall it didn't hurt just sacred them. I also put one of the railings on the one side and pushed the other side of the bed up by the wall. Both my children started to sleep well in the bigger bed with no problems in about a week.My son was two when he got his first bed. Put pillows on the floor, if your worried. But most toddler beds are lower to the ground.
