What names do you use for private parts?

What have you taught your children or what names were you taught ?

Our two year old son is starting to want to know where his girl cousin's "weenie" is. "Vagina" just seems too vulgar coming out of a two year old's mouth.

Answers:
I have a son and he has always called it his "thing" or his "candy" but my nieces were taugt to call their's a "purse" or "cootie" when they get older. my youngest niece asked why we called it a "purse" or "pocketbook" is because noone ever goes into a women's purse except her. My son called his candy because he's selfish and does not like to share his candy.

Other Answers:
That's Private.

Just tell him that she has an inie and he has an outie I call mine darth vader! My girlfriend's is pookie!

Black Forest and My Friend Richard. a girl's reverse weenie

My daugher calls her vagina a "Cooch" (as in *coochie-coochie-coo).

Hoo hoo.

My son is four, and he calls his a penis. It doesn't sound as bad as vagina for sure. When I was little, my mom called mine a poly, like roly poly. I think it was some kind of german decended term. But it doesn't sound bad at all. :) Be honest...its a penis and a vagina.

Vagina is a technical term, not a dirty word. Do you teach your son to call his private part a penis? It's no different...it's the correct name for a body part.

BUT.....
You could teach him the word vulva, which is actually the external part of the female sex organs that you can see. (The vagina is actually a specific internal structure that he probaby doesn't actually see on his cousin.)

I have also been known to use the term "yoni" with my girls sometimes.

(WHY is everyone so afraid of the words folks? They're just body parts! It's no different than "nose" or "elbow" really!)

My four year old daughter knows she has a vagina.

She knows that boys have penises.

She knows that everyone has ears, elbows, stomachs, knees..we call every part it's proper name.

My daughter uses "tee-tee" and she came up with it on her own Why is Vagina vulgar, that's what it is. We are taught to think it's dirty. My daughter is 4 and I have always taught her the proper terms. It's not like I'm telling her it's a c*nt or a p*ssy. These are vulgar terms. Vagina is the proper name and if anyone every touches her in an inappropriate way, I want her to be able to say EXACTLY where. Not hoo hoo, coo coo or poo poo. We are women, it's not vulgar . . it's natural.

for boys its a chili and a girl its her girlfriend

Please just use the real terms. I find 'making up' names just make them ashamed of the real ones. Not to mention confusing to them!

i teach my kids the proper names -- penis and vagina, they need to know the proper words just in case something happens to them and there's no confusion about what the child is trying to communicate. I was raised with vagina and penis, my daughter can not quite say vagina so she calls it her "gina". It really does not sound dirty coming from her.

My son started calling his penis a tail when he was very little, my sitter would button up his onsie and always tell him she was buttoning up his tail. He's almost 5 and he still has a tail. My daughter has an inside tail according to my son.

i have four boys and a little girl. so we call her vagina a woowee. that way we know what she's talking about but it doesn't sound nasty. and if she says it when we are out in public no one knows what she's talking about. hope that helps.

My friends little girl called hers a pee-pot. My Daughter is 3 yrs old and in our house we call it a Flower.
