2 yr old twins, one talks well the other only 7-10 words.?

I have 25 month old twins. One talkes very well and is starting to form small 2 word together. The other twins only has a vocabulary of 7-10 words. He just doesn't want "try" to talk or say different words. Is this common in twins?

In the case of twins, they usually exhibit normal patterns of speech later than most children. Because twins are quite unique in their duality, they often develop their own language that they alone can understand. When they are ready to communicate with the rest of the world, they will do so. I wouldn't worry at all. At least your son is speaking.

The more you talk with your children, the more they will begin to talk with you. If it really bothers you, discuss it with your pediatrician. But twins usually develop normal speech patterns later than singletons. But it will not prevent them from developing normally like other children.

Plus some kids just talk later than others.
