How many ounces of liquid does a 14 month old need?

It seems he is always thirsty. He has about 24 ounces of milk each day (whole milk now) and he has about 4 - 6 ounces of juice a day plus some watrer too. Doesw this seem excessively thirsty to you?

Answers:
My 14 month old son drinks a lot too. He drinks 16-24 ounces of whole milk every day, and probably about 10-16 ounces of water too. He has been especially more thirsty lately. But of course, it's hotter..so it makes sense. There is no harm on getting a lot of fluids. We could all actually learn from our babies and drink as much fluid everyday too! We can definitely profit from it. Oh, I rarely give my son juice. And if I do, it's heavily watered down.

Other Answers:
I don't think so. My daughter drinks a lot of whole milk and watered down juice. She is very active, so she's always thirsty! If your son is on the go a lot, then chances are, he's going to be more thirsty. If you're overly concerned about it, call your pediatrician.

You need to ask your pediatrician when you are concerned for your child. There are many factors to consider in evaluating if something is wrong. are you talking about juice? if that is the case i would give her 6 ounces of it for lunch. and then 4 ounces in the afternoon. any other time i would give milk. 2 %

If the child is thirsty, let him drink! Who cares how much.... I would water down the juice and give him water as often as he wants. Every child is different - there is no standard for drinking.
