Our son calls both me and by husband mamma. How do we make him call his dad "papa"?

Answers:
No worries...when babies learn new words they use it for everything.

Your son may already know that your husband is papa and you are mama, but his speech is not quite as advance as his thoughts. These 2 processes are separate.

For a very long time my son's only word/sound was Gah! and used it for every thing..

However when asked "where's papa?" he would point to the right person..
He understands most of basic conversation, but only speaks 20 words or so (he's bilingual)...and all the sudden..a couple days after his second year dr visit, he just started adding a lot more to his vocabulary (1 to 4 words a day)...

Keep using papa/mama appropriately and he will soon to the same.

Other Answers:
Wait until he grows up a little more. Toddlers sometimes find it easier to say word beginning with m.
its maybe just an easier word for him to say. I wouldn't worry about it. My niece called her Mom, Mommy June for years...not that she had another Mommy or anything!!! And it's a nice compliment for you. It says he loves his Mommy so much that he wants to call everyone it!!!
Hey! Don't worry about it! My brother used to call my aunt uncle! He just learned that word first so he was just used to it!
Don't worry about it just let him know when he says it that it is not right and correct him. Don't argue with him he will get it when he gets older.
my son said "daddy" (well, it sounded more like "dah-dee!") to both me and his father for a couple months, until he started pronouncing the "m" sound better. so, just as some of the other replies have been here, i wouldn't worry about correcting it. your son will grow out of it as he learns how to talk.
