Hepatitis "A" Vaccine for a 18-month old?

For my child's next doctor visit (18-month check-up) the doctor said we will have the option of having a Hepatitis "A" vaccine administered. Our doctor recommended it if we planned on doing any overseas travel to countries that have a high rate of this disease, which we certainly don't plan on doing.

Any other parents face this "optional" vaccine, and did you decide to give it to your child, and why?

Answers:
I had my son get it. Hepatitis A is not only in other countries. Food Poisioning is actually a form a Hep. A. I am a nurse and I reccommend getting all vaccines for your child, otherwise they have a chance of getting illnesses that can be fatal.

Other Answers:
We did, too, for both our kids.
Hepatitis A is everywhere.

I refuse any and all vaccines, period.
