What are safe and natural ways to get baby to sleep?

she is 23 mos old. She went to hosp last night for fever. fever broke and was sent home (diagnosis: a virus that is "going around") the fever is now being controlled by motrin/tylonal does alternating. She does not sleep more than 1/2 hr at a time. and then she refuses to go back to sleep. She normally loves bedtime. She wants nothing to drink. She's had several baths. Help!--Sleep depraved mom and dad needs help!! She also screams for no reason and loud and hard. She has also started quivering...her leg...her arm.

Poor little pumpkin. I hear you on the no sleep part, been there and done that...no fun! Does she possible have an ear infection in addition to her virus? Sounds like she really needs mom and dad's comfort right now. She may also have a very sore throat, especially if she isn't drinking. Have you tried some "white noise" in her room...Such as a fan, radio? Other than baths, white noise and what you are already doing...I cannot think of anything else. If this continues, I would call her Doctor again.

Poor baby.... she doesn't feel good.... I hope she gets better soon.
