My son is turning 2 soon and I want to have a luau party. Any one got any ideas?

Answers:
That is so cute!!! We are stationed in Hawaii and babies here have luaus instead of birthdays. Basically, it's really a HUGE get togethr for the entire family with festive activities and food. Hawaiians get together with family, like, EVERY weekend. They have very close knit families. A luau is a great choice... You might want to go to a web site specializing in baby's 1st luaus to get ideas from other parents. Good luck and congratulations!!!

Yeah, do everything in plastic so you don't have to worry about the cost of real flowers! Party City or a store like that should have plastic lais (sp?) and try decorating with little plastic exotic fruit like pineapple, oranges, bananas, etc. Of course have a limbo contest, get some of those little umbrella toothpicks for drinks and serve them in half coconut shells. Pineapple juice, ginger ale and a splash of cream soda makes really good tropical drinks. Or try frozen orange juice concentrate popsicles. Have some grilled pineapple and ham, maybe fry some mixed nuts, try a fruit cake, get some citronella torches and have it outside with decorative lights (like Christmas lights, but they sell them in tea lantern shape at Target or Wal-Mart). Holy heck, they actually have a website on how to make a luau, what the....???

I'd say get what your son loves to eat and keep it simple too. You don't want to over do it. I had a simple party for our son who turned 2. All we did was have his favorite foods and cake and ice cream. Being that we are new to the area we just kept at home. Don't forget a jumper. Now thats a very good idea. You won't have to think of games to do w/the children. Just let them loose in the jumper and WAAALA. But have fun w/it. Most likely your son won't remember it not unless you video tape it. Have Fun. Happy Birthday to your SON.
