What are good strategies to potty train my 18 month old girl.?

When I potty trained my daughter, I found that she didn't like to sit for very long. Also, it's a very different feeling for a girl to sit and potty as opposed to being covered and "going" in a diaper. A little chilly - if you get my drift. Some girls find that a little unsettling.
Girls get bored very easily...keep a book or a doll or something "lap size" that she can keep herself preoccupied with while she potties.
Give plenty of praise for successful potty/hygiene habits and good luck!

Take the diaper away. Put her in regular underwear.
After a mess or two, she'll get it. This is less likely to work with boys, though.
