when your child turns 3 do you get a free nursery place for a few hours or is it only schools that do that??
Answers:
Some states offer free pre-school for children between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Before or After that you must pay. Most of these programs though don't start taking the children until they are 4 years old. Check with some of the local daycares around your area. Even if they offer the program at age 4, now is the time to check things out, fill out application forms and get on the waiting list.(Some daycares have up to a year waiting list, slots fill up fast). If your state does offer this program (most of these states have their own lottery, that is how it is funded.) you should know that religious based daycares can not offer this program. I hope this info helps, good luck!

Are you asking if you get free babysitting when your child turns three? If it's out there I sure have never heard of it
the only place i got is for my 3year old was a school but now you can take your kid to a sure start place......
I think some European countries may do that. In the US, you can do a Mother's Day Out program, but it costs a bit of money. Churches often do them, so it is pretty reasonable and usually great to get your kiddo used to being with other kids. Check with some larger churches in your area and ask what they offer. If you are in a low income bracket, you probably would qualify for Head Start. Try contact your local Health and Human Services department or the School System in your area.
I don't understand you question ?? At age 3 you can have them in pre-school they only go for couple hours but you have to paid for it !! well there is some places that it is free
idealy every 3 yr is entitled to 2 1/2 hrs every day at nursery. but you must apply for a nursery place first, some nurseries dont take children until they're about 3 1/2.

The no answers you've received are from Americans. The yes answers are from Brits.
If you live in the UK, your child receives five part-day sessions a week of nursery or preschool free, from the term that begins after their third birthday. That is, if the term starts in September and your child's birthday isn't until October, you have to wait until the December term to get your vouchers.
This is not only for school nurseries, but also for any private preschool or playgroup. You can just go visit any nursery in your area and ask them when you'll be eligible for the vouchers.
In the US, though... nada.
I have never heard of that except maybe at a church. Some churches hold weekly or monthly parents day out where they watch your kids for free so you can spend the day with your spouse or whatever you want to do.
