My daughter is 18 months I am trying to get her to use the potty can anyone give me some pointers?
Answers:
I have THE technique.
First it is good that you are starting now... it will take time.
Okay for now, just take her into the bathroom when you pee. Let her hear the pee and see it. Invasion of your privacy, perhaps, but it works. After she understands what you are doing then you can begin yo put her on the toilet. Put her regularly, every hour or so. Even if she doesn't go, let her sit there.
Let her run around naked. If she pees on the floor, take her immediately to the toilet. DONT USE PULL UPS OR DIAPERS... let her run free.
IF she does pee, give her TONS of praise so she'll want to continue doing it.
i'd wait til she was a little older... like two ......
and god..my sons took forever..i am so jealous of you.....
the 10 year old still pees his pants if he is super distracted playing video games.....
but then boys are supposed to be harder to train than girls...
you got off lucky....
She will use it when she is ready never push them towards it they will back off. She is getting close to taking that step but not quit ready. Just let her know that it is there. I put a potty chair in my living room and one in my bathroom for my daughter. She started on her own just because they where there. Good luck
