My 18 month old son is giving my migraines...literally...a... advice??

My son has gotten into the habit of letting out this high pitch screech-like scream. Usually for no apparent reason. I don't understand why. The pitch is usually so high that it actually ignites severe headaches. How can I break him of this? I've tried everything from lightly smacking his mouth and telling him "no", to time out, and even whispering to him (so he copies my action and whispers too). Help!! Any advice is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

You sound like me. My son is 18 months too and screams just like that. It also gives me insane headaches. Unfortunately it is just a phase, he realized he can scream really loud and to him it sounds pretty cool. Like most new things, he'll eventually stop doing it. I usually try to take a nap when he does to sleep off the headache. Good luck. Let me know if you find something that stops the screaming! LOL.
Sorry, it is a phase. Lasts about 6 months. Ear plugs is the best answer.
