I asked yesterday but I want to see what answers I get today?

My son is 26 months old and we had houseguests for a few months and they slept in his room so he slept in ours. Now it seems I have to lay with him to get him to go to sleep. If i don't he either crys so hard he throws up or he just comes out of his room. It is really getting to his dad. When I do lay with him and he falls asleep every little noise wakes him. we live in a apartment building and our neighbors are up all night (I really hate that) and whenever they turn on their water it wakes him up. the water heaters are located in his room and the room above and below him. Sometimes it even wakes me up. I am up several times a night comforting him. I don't blame him it is quite a frightening noise. I have to do something cause I am 37wks preg and am sleep deprived. Dad is to the point where he is fed up and told me just to sleep in his room all night but I don't want to do that. He slept alone no problem until our guests came. How long until he gets used to the noises or will he ever?

Answers:
Put one of those WHITE NOISE machines in his room or a fan. He needs constant noise at a low level and that should work.
Had to do that for a couple of my kids. It works.
just let him cry.
