Age To Start Potty Training?

At what age is the best to try to start potty training? My son is 2 years 2 months.

Answers:
As a parent you have to decide when is the best time for you him to begin training. Don't do it because friend, family or the doctor says so. And not because you feel because he is a certain age he should be training. if he is showing signs that he can and he understands well enough for you to train him then do so. but don't rush him. it may back fire. my daugher was 2.5 when she started and she now 3 and she goes with no problem. she just started going in public. I bought the portable potty. It folds open and close to travel with. Also as encouragement you can throw a pretend party when he goes for the first time so that he knows he did a good thing. Or if he has a favorite character such as Blues Clues, or Bob the builder then call the character on the phone after he has gone to the potty. Have a family member or friend pretend to be the character on the other end of the phone telling him he did a great job going to the potty.

My daughter is also 2/2, she just started a month ago. We showed her the potty, and it was her decision to start. Have him watch you go, and better yet your husband, and eventually he'll go on his own. Don't push him though, let him want to do it.
