my baby is now 2 year old and all he eats is gerber cereal and similac powder milk he won't eat solids help!
Answers:
Mixing in other foods gradually will certainly help, like mashed bananas or apple sauce or scrambled eggs. the "What to expect for toddlers" has yummy recipes for 2-3 yr olds. Gradual is the anwser, but I'd like to know HOW he is eating? Is he eating by himself? In a bottle? If you serve his dinner at the same time as the rest of the family and you allow him to feed himself he will then become interested in eating what you are. Dont be afraid to give him what he asks for, at 2 he can eat most everything ('cept nuts etc). Even if he spits something out once, try again some other time, our taste buds need a few tries to adjust.
Other Answers:
be patient. :) cut down on his milk and cereals and everytime he gets hungry, try to feed him mashed fruits (start with applesauce and mashed bananas, babies love that)
Omg he should have been eating solids.U should take him to the doctor to see if anything wrong.I mean because he's 2 he should be eating some of the stuff that u eat now.
talk to your pediatrician first but I would say that a child that age probably shouldn't be taking formula at all. try only to offer him solids. if he's really hungry he'll eat. I know it sounds horrible and I have two children so I know how hard it is to do something that you know is going to upset him but you'll thank yourself in the long run if you deal with it now.
my niece was the same she wont eat meat she just drinks regular milk and is real small but now we give her different stuff to try and help her build her appetite just mix baby cereal (gerber) in her milk bottles for starters then feed her baby cereal mied with fruit juice she might like
A child that age should not be eating gerber cereal and similac powder, that child is a toddler, not a baby. The toddler needs solid food, don't give him/her powder anymore. The child will get hungry.
Have you ever tryed solid foods? Ok. First the similac- mix your formula half and half with milk. (Half the cup of formula with half the cup full of milk) Every couple days, add a little less formula and a little more milk until it's all milk. I hope the TODDLER is not on a bottle anymore. Try slicing a banana and letting the TODDLER eat that. I hope you already have a set feeding schedule. The TODDLER should be eating when you eat at this point. (Normal breakfast, lunch, and dinner times) My son is 2 and he loves spaghettiO's. He also likes hotdogs, grilled cheese, chicken nuggets (baked not fried), mashed potatoes, cereal, ham, cooked carrots, green beans, stuffing, turkey. Pretty much whatever you eat, the TODDLER can eat.
