At what age is it safe to let a child sleep with a pillow?

My daughter is 21 months old. She asks for a pillow every night when I put her to bed. I never give her one because I'm just not sure it's safe.

once a child becomes good at rolling over it is safe to give them a pillow the danger lies in the possibility of suffication due to dot being to roll away from the danger

now is ok Yeah... a pillow is great and especially if your child hasn't grown a NECK after 21 months... my son had no neck either! Head and Shoulders! Better head support and the head has probaly gotten harder by then- wait until they're teenagers! Their heads will get really hard then!

Now is fine, just ensure that the pillow is not too fluffy and hyper-extends her neck. Make sure the pillow you use keeps her head and neck in-line with the rest of her body.

My son is 14 months and sleeps with a pillow. But it's a small pillow though. First I got a travel pillow so it's a little smaller... but it was too poofy so when my son puts his head on it, it curves around his face. So I made a couple of pillows myself. It's smaller, and flatter and a lot safer. But I'm sure you can buy small pillow at walmart, like decorative pillows. They're usually smaller.

now is okay. my son had a pillow since he could crawl at eleven months. I figured if he was mobile enough to crawl then he can move his head if he can't breathe. You daughter is old enough now that even if the pillow does manuver itself over her face she is old enough to recognize this and move it or herself. Whenever he/she can easily support the weight of their own head and body, its ok to give them a pillow. The reason you do not prior to that is if they cannot lift their head and body, they can suffacate in the pillow.

My son started sleeping with pillow when he was a year old. i think it is safe after a year , just make sure that you monitor him and never leave him unattended when he is sleeping.

my son has been sleepin with a pillow since he was a year and a half, hes 21/2 now and has had no problem. but he sleeps all over the bed so he dont stay on it long. my 18 month old also sleep with a pillow some nights and has no problem.
