My son wants to sit at a computer like me. How do I deal with this?

Answers:
Along with other people's suggestions, maybe he is just mimicking you. Do you work on the comp or just go on in your free time? If it's not for work, maybe getting on the computer when he's sleeping might help. Young ones always imitate us...

My son always wants to get into what I'm doing, so If it can wait, I always do it when he's sleeping or when he's outside with his brothers. Good luck!

Other Answers:
Introduce him to different hobbies. Get him outside.
you could always turn him on to educational websites according ot his age..... ww.nickjr.com ....etc
Let him but go on sites like pbskids.org or nickjr.com and u can have a time limit for u and him to play games and read stories on the computer. Also u can go out and buy games for learning that he can play for his age.
When my son was younger, I let him use my old computer, or just a keyboard and a mouse and he's satisfied. Now, I try not to use the computer when he's around. And we have computer dates once a day where we sit together and play whatever he wants to play for 30 minutes to an hour. This way, just like his TV time, he has computer time too.
They have computers for children....they aren't exactly like the adult ones, but they are good for learning and cost a whole lot less.
Let him! Go to sesamestreet.com and play with him for awhile. It's a great way to learn and bond together. If he still wants more try this... I bought my daughter a computer keyboard (it was like $15 at Fry's) and she played with it on the floor for hours. Kids like to imitate their parents at this age.

Of course, he might just be wanting you to spend more time with him.

Good luck!
