What is the best way to hold a family meeting?

Well it depends on the timing. If the little boy is playing a video game when you call a meeting he isn't going to want to listen as well as at the dinner table. We have family talk and advice at the dinner table everynight. I find that to be very useful.

Perhaps at a time you would already naturally be together, say right after a meal at the diner table? You may not need to have one every week or every night but if it is set up for that time all family members will know about it and be there.
I wouldn't try having a "family meeting" during the meal as u wouldn't want a heated discusson or argument to ruin an otherwise good time with the family. Someone could mention during the meal, towards the end, that they need / want to have a family meeting that night so everyone will know to stick around a bit when done eatting.

Dont say that its a family meeting. Let everyone get at the table and say that u all want to play a game. Sit there and play the game and slowly just start talking about whatever it is you need to talk about. Thats what my dad did to me when i was younger.
