My son is 2and 1/2 yrs old. Whwn should I start potty training and any ideas?

Answers:
I started at 18 months. It takes an awful lot on energy on your part. A lot of encouragement. Try not to be upset if he has accidents. I also bought an entertaining video. Bear in the Big Blue House Potty Time... I know, it sounds corney, but the kid enjoyed it and it gave her something she could relate her experience to.

this is the perfect time. my son was exactly 2 and 8 monthswhen he started to go to the bathroom by himself. boy are always slower and if u started now he should be trained before 3,

now is a good time, if he is telling you when his diaper is dirty, that is a good sign, also if he pulls at it, or gets cranky when it is full, good signs,
i just finnished with my son, if he does not seem interested at first, give him time; also, treats or prizes work great when he does go, and sing and dance a "potty" song...so much fun

My son at age 2 1/2 started on his own from watching my husband and I go. Boys are slower than girls at potty training though, my daughter was only a year 1/2.
Now is a good time, he should be ready. No need to force it cause it will just make it harder though. Have him go in with you or your husband/boyfriend to see how it's done and when he goes, reward him with praise and maybe a small treat. My son also watched Bear in the Big Blue House Potty Time, he loved it.. lots of good little videos out there.
Just as a warning though.. not all kids are alike but my son loved to pee in corners and toy boxes.. even house plants once he learned how to aim and use it for peeing.

you are late NOW!! My son will be 3 Tuesday and he wants nothing to do with the potty. We have been trying for a while now. The sooner the better. But regardless. He will only train when he is ready!! GOOD LUCK!!!

Diffrent ages for diffrent children does he give any signs of needing to be like letting you know when he is wet or has a dirty diaper if so I think now would be a good time to start trainning him.
