15 month prehistoric near a confusion.. please HELP?
Answers: Is she on antibiotics for the ear infection. Unfortunately, antibiotics can pinch up to a week to ten days. Did the doctor give you ears drops to try to help the backache. Try baby pain medication. Also, you probabally already know this, but your daughter is at the age she is teething, and babies get temperatures and ear infections when they are teething. Check surrounded by her mouth, see if you see any new teeth trying to come in, this could also brand her fussy. Sorry she's in pain, I know a mother feel helpless at times like these.
first things first. how are you checking her temp?
I say you should check it rectally. Use some lubrication and a plastic verbs cover, available in stores everywhere. Insert it about a partially inch. Sounds deep? Thats why they call it a core temp and its the most accurate. The commonplace range is about 99-100.4. But if its 102 or greater, she definitely has a fever.
Now, if you are going to bequeath her medicine, go to the doctor and gain a dosage chart. Or tell me what her weight is, and i can notify you how much. From my chart.
If the fever is severe, (104) try giving both motrin and tylenol. motrin every 8 and tylenol every 4. Nip that fever surrounded by the butt 2 ways.
Lastly, help her cool down. take past its sell-by date her clothes and wrap a lose light blanket around her. Give her a luke warm tub. Let her swing in the breeze to sleep, and give lots of fluids. Its okay if she have lost her appetite, she wont starve, just continue to awaken fluids.
Her ear infection will go away, and her fever will too.
Dont forget to follow up next to your doctor in 2-3 days, i bet you already have an appointment. If its not gone later. Doc will probably give you antibiotics. But most children get better in need them. :)
Get her back to the Doc. You have done everything you can and the warmth is an indication that the infection is not resolving, it may be that she needs some different antibiotics. Keep on with lots of cool fluids to drink and toddler paracetomol and have her checked over for your own piece of mind. Did the doctor suggest Tylenol and Motrin? I was told by our Pediatrician to use both Tylenol and Motrin for fever (the Tylenol is long lasting and the Motrin is fast acting). Consult next to your doctor before trying but that's what we always do. Make sure to make a contribution plenty of liquids too - the appetite will return when your little one feels better. I loathe it when my kids are sick so I know how you feel! Good luck!
Little mommy: Been there done that. I will relate what works for us every time, an hoary home remedy, and we always use it on young'uns with giant fevers. Cut an onion in partly. Put the raw part to the sole of the child's foot, both foot, and bind them there, not to tight but firm. The fever will in reality cook the onion to some extent. Some folks say a potato will work but I have impossible that. I think you will be surprised. I know that a lot of babies, and even family will not want to eat during a fever. Just as long as fluids are going surrounded by, and keep going in that is to say good. Keep trying with the food though.. little is better than none. My doctors use to report to me if a fever goes up to 102, and stays that route then they need to be see... if it means again and again.
Bless that baby. I despise it when they get sick.
If it gets up to 104 again stir to the hospital, at that point her brain is in danger of overheating, help yourself to her to a hospital where that can keep her temp down. Don't verbs about looking like a noob, this is your little girl. are you giving her tylenol or mortrin for the restlessness? if you are and thats not working call your dct vertebrae asap. otherwise try that, one of them usually will do the trick
911 ER, do something!! get off the cpu!! if the hallucination will not go away then transport her back to doctor.
