my 15 month daughter sleeps in her crib in the living room, we own a one bedroom and shes never had a problem with it, but awhile ago she started pulling her leg up over the side and i thought she be going to learn how to climb out of her crib, so i took off the front and made it a daylight bed, she loved it she was able to climb contained by and out so problem, until night time, i heard her cry so i go to check on her and she was curled up on the couch, it was kinda funny, i put her put money on to bed but she didnt want it, so i put the rail back up and never have a problem till lately, for the past few nights she will yelp in the middle of the night, nought wrong with her, not wet, hungry, nil, wide awake, she just doesnt want to be surrounded by the crib, i dont have a problem putting her in the time bed, its just that im in a 1 bedroom, and i dont want her getting into things contained by the middle of the night, and i can't really put gates up, and i dont want her sleeping surrounded by the bed with me and daddy.
Answers: it is true saftey does come first.if she will sleep better with the sunshine bed who cares about how big the sanctuary rail is thatu have..if shes going to sleep later so be it...she will get over that stage pretty soon of climbing out of her bed to get on the counch.
Safety first. She's not outdated enough to be left alone contained by the room so if it was me she would be in a crib for in a minute.
The couch is a terrible place for a child to sleep, for her body especially. If anything, put her in the light of day bed with a rail. She requests some kind of structure, some semblance of a bed, not just "crashing" on the couch at mom's place. I don't be going to this in a rude way.
