1 year old son, How hot is too hot?

When I am giving my son a bath, how hot can the water be? He didn't seem to mind, but his skin got a little pink. I personally like warmer baths, wouldn't it make sense that he would too?

Answers:
your hot water heater should be set at no more than 120. Test the water on your elbow first. If it seems too hot for you then chances are its too hot for him. If your sons skin turns pink its prob. too hot. You can also get the rubber ducks with the thermometer on it.

Other Answers:
not to hot not to cold you dont want to hurt him so if he screams to hot and ask him if the water is ok

Go to walmart or Target and buy one of those little duckies that tells you if the water is too hot. Make sure the waters warm but you dont want it as hot as you might like it. Their skin is still new and their nervous system is much more alert. If the baby flinches at all when put in the water, it may be too warm.

Someone else mentione one of those duck thermometers. Thats a good idea if you are having problems being able to tell a safe temperature.

At any rate, if the water isnt uncomfortably hot to you then its not going to scald a one year old. If I were you Id just make the baths a little cooler if hes getting the pink skin.
