How can I encourange my child to toilet train?

Is the 2 year old interested? Sometimes pride will make him (the 4 yr. old) try.. The worst thing you can do is tease him, though....
When I trained my boys, I would sit them on the toilet backwards, facing the tank. this keeps their legs apart, they can see what they are doing, they have a natural "aim" to the water..and it helps them feel more secure instead of worrying about falling in....It sounds silly, but it really does work..I know many people who reluctantly tried it as a last resort, and toldme they wished they'd have done it right off.....Saves a lot of grief.....Good luck

Don't sweet talk him u need to let him know that he has to do what u say or there will be a punishment for it! No matter if he looks scared at u when u tell him, he needs to learn. Maybe a spanking might help everytime that he doesn't tell u he has to go potty. But first warn him and if he doesn't listen then go ahead

Most pyschologists agree not to push the child at all towards potty training as it can be quite a traumatic time in their childhood development. Having older brothers should be sufficient enough on its own for the 4 year old to be encourgaed, as he will most likely be wanting to do everything the way the older ones do, soon, I would expect. I wouldn't panic over the fact that he is four, although it is sure to be an incovenience and not cost effective, but he is most likely to undertake it of his own accord soon. Far better to wait later than too early, that is fairly a given by child pyscholgists. I don't know if this makes you feel any better, but I would say at this point it's still okay that he hasn't been weaned from diapers yet.
