Is there anything that can help kids go to sleep on an overnight flight?

My fiance` and my two small girls, 1yr and 2&1/2 yr old, are flying from WA state to Ohio in little less than a month.
They're very active and wondered if anyone had any suggestions on how to guarantee sleep for them. I might talk to their pediatrician to see if there are child and infant sedatives maybe?

Answers:
Hey hun, I have 5 kids. Call your ped. and ask if he can call you in just enough liquid phenergran...THIS WILL PUT THEM TO SLEEP, AND it is also good for nerves...so they won't be anxious.

yea, try it.... its not fun wit lil kids on a long flight. benadryl would work well. and its safe

easy-time tea is a great natural way 2 relax them,or anything with chamomile.drank hot or cold nice and sweat just the way kids like it will do wonders 4 them.

Just about all mother's use a little cough syrup (the drowsy kind) to get their kids to sick. But if u don't want to do that, you can get chewable/children's Dramamine, and look for it when it says drowsy. Trust me that works.

sing them a lovely song to sleep this may sound wrong or unethical but it works. i was a very hyper child and my mom says she used to put a FEW drops of Jack Daniels in my bottle to make me fall asleep. i did not believe her at first then i asked my dad (parents divorced my whole life) one day in my teenage years if my mom used anything to put me to sleep and he said the same thing. just dont go overboard and turn your kids into alcoholics before they even get to preschool. lol. sorry.

jasmine tea, chamomile tea red clover. Celestial seasons
makes a tea called sleepy time my kids (all 6) love it. just add about a half tea spoon of honey and a couple of ice cubes if they like it cold. you can get it at most grocery stores

I was worried about the same thing and someone told me to give my 2 yrs old Dimat. The cough medicine sorry don't no how to spell it. Never gave my son cough medicine before.
