What do u think about your children in daycare?

I need to go back to school and work but right now i'm a stay at home mom. I'm so afraid to put her in daycare. She's 1 1/2 years old. I've been hearing so many bad things about it and some good. But if something happened to her. I swear everyone in the entire universive would hear about what i've done to that person. She's nice baby but i watch her around other kids she likes it so much, but they hit her and she just looks she doesn't hit back. I don't know what to do, I'm afraid to let go! maybe i'm just paranoid!

You are a good mom, it's normal to be protective. Just investigate and do repeat interviews with daycare providers until you find the right one. Daycare is a good environment and kids do learn alot about socialization. She will learn to stick up for herself and assert her independence. Good luck!

being bad I can relate to your fears! I hated putting my son in daycare! But, it is good for them because they learn how to act around other kids, plus they get to learn a lot of new things. Just try to research the daycare centers around your home or work and try to pick the best one. Try talking to some of the parents who have kids in the centers and get their opinions...

I myself don't have any kids but I know how you are feeling. Because so many terrible things have been happening at those places. Is is possible for you to find someone that you can trust--perhaps a grandmother or a sincere friend? Maybe that would be the best solution.

I had the same feelings when I thought about going back to work. I dreaded the thought of leaving my son with a stranger. I found a web site for my state that had a list of certified day care providers. I visited 3. After the first 2 I wanted to give up. After the third, I knew it was a good thing. Just visit as many as you need to find the perfect match. You shouldn't have trouble finding a provider who doesn't tolerate hitting.

i work in a daycare. it is nurve racking to a parent to put a child in daycare. and children who are new to it dont know what to do when another child hits them. they do learn who they dont want to go by and how to fend for themselves. just ask teh teacher to watch the child a bit closer for a few days until they get used to the place. after the first week you will be at ease and you wont mind it. look into teh place b4 taking the child there. some places arent the best. good luck and any questions you can IM me As a mom of 3 children.

I think putting them in daycare was the best thing that I could have ever done for them.

I stayed at home for a while with them then I too had to go back to work and school at that point they stayed with my husband's mother...Lets just say Daycare is what is best for your child.

Trust me its hard to let go...but you won't regret it.

I would never put my kids in daycare. she is too young to be influenced by strangers. She can't even speak well enougph to tell you if she had been mistreated.Hitting oh my once that starts it is never ending! do not allow kids to hit each other alwayys intervein with some kind words!
