What creative things can I do to play with my 13 month old? He always seems fussy and I think he might be bored because I am the only one he is around 99.9% of the time...

Babies at this age LOVE interaction!

Set aside an hour in the morning to play. Play blocks, and peek a boo, and the wheels on the bus with their legs, itsy bitsy spider, this little piggy.

sit on the floor when you are doing your reading, writing..whatever..they will come over for spontaneous hugs and kisses when they are doing their own thing.

try to get him outside for some running (if your baby is mobile) or crawling in the grass. roll a ball back and forth and blow bubbles.

once they are mobile you will be in a constant game of tag! you can also play hide and seek...or put a toy under a blanket or under a cup and help them find it.

go for a walk...

and...you should probably both be napping pretty well by then and have a happy baby that will let you have some time alone too!

good luck.

also..look up www.momsclub.org for a playgroup near you...its wonderful for the babies and it is wonderful to make some real friends in the saME LIFE STAGE...16 mos helping type here yime to playyyy

Well maybe you need totake him out side or to the park. Try to let him play wit other kids around his age.
Take him outside to feel the texture of nature, grass, tree bark etc. Help him explore. one thing that I loved as a baby was "doing the smells". My grandpa would let me sniff the spices my grandma had. I remember it to this day. Help develop the senses that often get forgotten!
Try looking for a mommy and me group, play group or a park or something close by that he can interact with other children his age, maybe even daycare a day or two for just a couple of hrs.
Good Luck!
If you don't have a lot of time to play out doors, try bringing the outdoors in....Get a small kiddie pool, fill it with sponges of any kind, stuffed animals or dolls, and plastic Easter eggs ( if you have any left over). Sit the pool nearest you IE kitchen, living area, din. My 13mth loves having Easter egg hunts all day... The more she throws things around the more she finds...By the way put little snacks inside the eggs, gives them something to really look for... Good luck and Have fun.
my son is the same age and I was experiencing the same problem. I went and bought him his own little one ring swimming pool at wal-mart (it was only like 3.00) and we go outside for about 45 min a day and I let him play in it. He loves it! Of course, don't forget the sunblock! Then afterwards I take him and walk around with him so he can dry off and I show him things like butterflies and grass, and rocks, stuff he don't normally see inside. He enjoys this time, and when I bring him back inside he's not so fussy anymore!
it was same with me and my daughter, and if im honest sometimes i was bored too!

get outside, even if its just for a walk to shop and back, or if have a garden let him play outside.

me and my daugter did tons of creative stuff and now she is nearly two she loves painting etc... i gave her playdough and chunky crayons and just left her to it (obviously i stayed by incase she tried to eat any of it!)
you could make a drum kit out of pots. pans or old tubs and wooden spoons.. just make sure you prepare yourself for the noise!
failing that turn on the radio or a kids cd and dance, make silly faces and just have fun!
more often than not, if you're having fun, the child will too!
