I don't think there is really a limit. How old is the child? I have been told that it is much easier to teach a baby or a toddler a second language then it is an adult or a teenager. I would suggest to teach them one at a time unless of course you live in a multiculture or multilanguage home. Then I would say to always talk to the child in all languages from birth.
When you have a baby/toddler it's best to talk in 2 languages with one parent talking each language. The child will be able to learn both and not confuse one with other say Dad speaks English and Mom Spanish .I think 5 years and over would be a good age to introduce more languages .Good luck

we are a multilingual family and this is how we have taught our children.
Kids are amazing language-learning machines! Despite popular myths, they won't get confused if the parents talk to them in two different languages or something. Kids all over the world live in environments where two or more languages are commonly spoken and they do just fine. Speak away! I disagree with the previous answerer who recommended introducing other languages after age 5. I'd say before, because kids seem to start losing their language acquisition abilities after age 7 or so.
actually is better teaching different languages when theyre little cus the brain is fresh and its easier to assimilate new acknowlegements.
