Any good ideas for a 3 yr old boy's party?

Do you have any ideas for things to do on a mini party with my three year nephew? The only people there will be the kid, me, my brother, and a friend. It's not a birthday party, just a little something so that he doesn't have to stay home alone while his older sisters go on to another party. So there's no specific occasion or anything, but any ideas for fun activities applying to his age level would be great. (in case it matters, he's a very active, and very smart boy, he doesn't like to sit still but loves to run around, he also enjoys crafts and such things)

Answers:
An afternoon at the park...boys love that...they can run around...everyone is happy

Other Answers:
take him to a movie or to the park.. just do something simple. he should love it!

Take him to the play park and for ice cream, he'll be thrilled. well go to the park and let hgim have every thing he wats

You can take him Build a Bear. Check out if you have a ceramic decorating shop in your area. You may also go bowling (they can put up the bumpers for him).

More than celebrating the fact that he's three years old, you should be celebrating the realization that he's finally shed the terrible two's! Thanks.

Go to the movies or something but don't have a party just because his sisters are going to one. He needs to learn that there are going to be times when his sisters do things he won't and times when he will do things that they won't. For my daughter's 3rd birthday party we rented a cheap hotel room with a pool, invited her cousins and auties and uncles and had a blast! Everyone chipped in and it was cheaper and more fun than a movie.

At 3 he's able to express what he likes or dislikes. There's no real need for you to make the decision totally on your own. Come up with 5 possibilities (pool, park, movie http://www.enjoytheshow.com/reelmoms.cfm, munchies, maybe even a project like building a simple model car or something) then ask him what he'd like to do. His decision making process can be part of the fun.
