Answers:
when thor wa slittle,we would play camp-out.we had a towel to sit on for our lunch, and a shet and blanket for "sleep time".we would walk thru the house on hunting trip, looking for all square shapes or whatever shape we liked.we also played this game using the abc,s who can find the most things with an A.....when other kids joined, thywould actually look at pictures on the wall to see things or look into their food, like mac salad.on these days we had picnic food.inthe winter we would wear shorts and tees pretending that summer was here.we also had backward days, pizza for breakfast, bacon and eegs for dinner, keep pjs on during day,get dressed at nite. this is also a great time to make gifts, string a necklace, scrapbooking, have him decide what pics go in the book and who it goes to.this works great for me,i have family out-of-state.best of all, enjoy this time it goes by fast .

Get thier attention! If you cant let them run outdoors while you observe, or have time to get out an art project and newspapers for the mess, try interactive games for learning fun or get a box and fill it with odd items from your kitchen, library etc. They're all fingers and curiosity. You can put different items in it each time. It sounds too simple, I know, but it will keep them busy long enough for you to finish that project. So will the T.V. game!

My two-year-old boy is crazy about cars, trucks, and trains. Kids this age seem to love to be read to. Music is always great: singing with them (Itsy Bitsy Spider and other old favs) or playing music for them and dancing.
Playing catch with a soft ball (not a softball) or just rolling the ball to each other, simple puzzles, making musical instruments out of household stuff (tupperware and spoons for drums, put some beans in a container for a maraca).
Tickling is very popular at our house, also hide and seek (although they're not very good at it yet).
We also love to take a bedsheet and jerk it up and down (not too far up) and sing songs. (One little, two little, three little bubbles... 10 little bubbles go pop pop pop).
Enjoy! :-)
I had that same question a while ago. My friend bought me a book that had tons of activities. Fun things I would of never thought about.
It's called "The Toddlers Busy Book"
My little guy is 2 and loves to scribble with washable markers, crayons or best of all the Doodle Pro water pens. We have the large Doodle Mat which is great cause he can plop down right on top of it and since it's a water filled pen there is no mess. He gets a kick out of watching me draw for him.
The Little People pirate ship and castle are great for boys too...lots of little nooks to keep their interest.
Or try the Crayola picture/flash cards. Some have colors, others have pictures. I show him what each one is and then lay a few out at a time and ask him to find the objects or colors. He thinks it's a fun game and I like it because he's also learning as we go.
