What does it mean when my child (aged 3) has produced a green poo?
Answers:
It means your child ate something green or with green dye. My son gets that way when he eats fruit snacks. No need to worry.

It means he ate something that was green, or had any green food coloring. Usually what color you eat tends to be what color that comes out.

They have eaten something with synthetic green or blue dye in it.
Has he/she had a lot of juice or other foods with artificial colors? That's what happens to my son. It does NOT necessarily have to be something green.
maybe the child's not digesting his food properly. try a doctor
Did they drink something purple, purple koolaid alway did that to my kids, or even grape juice.
He has a tummy ache, or has eaten something with green colouring.

In Snooker, the Green is worth 3 points.
He/She could be sick, but my lil sis's poo used to turn green when she ate lucky charms. Its most likely its something he/she ate, and unless this is a really constant thing, i think he/she should be fine.
He/she has eaten something with a strong green pigment in it, I sure adults have green poo sometimes to.
not enough protein in yur diet
maybe your child has been eating too many vegetables. If not, it could be a stomach virus
sometimes that happens if he/she ate or drank something with a large amount of blue dye in it, like kool-aid or popsicles.
you really should take this matter to the childs Doctor, anyone could tell you anything on here.
They probably drank grape Kool-Aid. If there isn't a drink dye involved, then is the child having diarrhea? If a fever accompanies the green stool, then call your doctor. If the child is acting normally, check to see what they have been eating and drinking that was purple or red.

my friend's 3 year old has green and blue pooh sometimes...he's a very healthy, typical boy!
i wouldn't worry.
take care.
All the answers so far are right but to be sure you need to check exactly what shade of green it is, then take some of the poo to your doctor or the hospital and they can test it for you. If its a nice shade of green you might want to take some to the paint shop and get them to mix a batch of the same colour cos you might not get it again. Also to be on the safe side don't let your child poo on the lawn, you'll never see it until it's too late. Hope some of this helps.
is your child taking an antibiotic at the moment?
as this causes discolouring to the faeces
well he is having severe cold.
That happened to my kids whenever they drank blue Kool-Aid.
Could be iron supplements. has your child been taking new vitamins or cereal with a lot of extra iron in?
Green poo in babies can mean wind but I've not heard of it in a 3 year old.
he either ate something green or , oddly enough, something with red dye in it, which makes it turn green too, according to the Dr. Don't ask me why.
my wife said him or she is getting to much iron
