Is it safe to heat cows milk in a microwave oven and then feed it to a child over 1 year old?

Other than being extra cautious about the temperature of the milk to be sure that my babies mouth is not burned, does microwaving cause the milk to somehow change to something that is not healthy for consumption by my child?

Answers:
No. Heating milk in a microwave does not cause it to change into something harmful. A 1-year old should be able to tolerate cold milk direct from the fridge. Ask your Doctor to be sure.

Other Answers:
no, but heating it in the microwave does kill some of the nutrients, but if your child is over 1 year old, you shouldnt have to heat it for long, so no i guess it wont hurt it.

It is safe, nutritionally, but obviously unsafe if you heat it for too long.
I used to give my son warm milk with honey (after 12 mons), and often times had to warm it in the microwave in a split. As long as you shake or mix it well, even if it's just milk, to be sure that there are no hot spots, and check the temperature yourself, everything should be fine. :)

Yes, just make sure that you shake it up real good so there are no hot spots in the bottle.
depending on what time of day you give a child milk (warm or other wise) becaareful if they are going to go lay down the milk can go sour in the stomach causing a stomach ache. but warming milk is no harmful.
I am really not sure! But I think it is safe! Ask your childs pediatrician or doctor he will give you all the information you need to know!
I think it is safe, the only problem you want to avoid with heating liquids in microwave is overheating, which can seriously burn a child, because while you may not feel the bottle to be hot, the liquid inside it is boiling hot. So if you feel you have to heat your child's milk before giving it to him, you may do so, but make sure to test the temperature by squirting a few drops of milk on the inside area of your wrist. This is to let you know if the milk's temp is just right.
I heated my daughtes bottles in the microwave and she never had any problems. Just to get it too hot. Even if you let it cool to an appropriate temperature, heat can wreck the proteins.
