20 months-only 1 tooth, is this okay?

My 20 month old daughter only has one tooth! I've been to a dentist but they have no solutions saying they can't make the teeth come but are sure they can feel them in her mouth. Has any one else faced this problem or have any solutions? She is underweight and I feel she has difficulty chewing all the foods she wants to eat or sees other toddlers eating. There's a lot of food I won't give her because she can't chew though she does pretty good. Any help? Ideas?

Answers:
Not that i recommend this, but i have been told by my Father-in-law that his mother used a spoon on the gums to work them out. Other than that I'm sorry i can't be any help.
Ya. The doctor asked, "Have you ever heard of a baby that never got their teeth?"

It can be hell. They may all cut at the same time.
yea it's fine. Every childs mouth is different. if you get to 24 months and still only one tooth, the go to your local dentist and have some x-rays done. But im sure that everything is just fine
