how much sleep should a 16 month old child get a night?

Answers:
They need about 10-12 hours a night and definitely a 2 hour nap in the afternoon, maybe even an additional 1 hour nap in the morning. Babies have no idea what they need and will not get sleep on their own. Parents have to protect a baby's sleep by providing enough opportunities for sleep to occur. At least one nap a day and an early bedtime, no later than 8pm, is what parents need to provide for their children. I've never known a one and a half year old to say, "You know what, mom, I'm tired. I think I should go to bed now."

alot of sleep!!!
Usually a 2 hour nap in afternoon. Then probably 10-12 hours at night. But don't freak out, if it doesn't always happen like that. They will get enough sleep!!
Anytime they want to. Unless they have trouble going to bed at night.
Every child is different but the average in a 24 hour period is 10-13 hours a day. It can either be in one big chunk or split between night and naps. But your child can sleep more if they want to. You just want him to sleep at least 10 hours a day.
Something like 10-12 hours a night with a 1-2 hour nap.
my 15 month old has two 2 hour naps a day and then she sleeps 9-10 hours at night. generally this is very good but there are occasionally cranky days

my pediatrician told me she should get up to 12
