Children are always angels to their parents, no matter how devilish they are in their behaviour. Despite making trouble or mess, their parents will be cooing how good they are behaving!
Well, are the kids in one house or are you babysitting for a few families? Maybe you can consider dropping them and find a family whose kids are better behave.
Then again, if this is the usual attitude the parents have and you are paid pretty well, grin and bear with it.
Next time round, how about involving the kids in games? Have some games like one matching a cartoon show. Get a cartoon movie to screen when you are there, and then tell the kids you will bring more for them to watch next time only if they behave. You can play quess the characters, guess their full names or whatever you can make up with. Just to keep their attention and keep them occupied with non-destructive play.
You can make the choice as you are looking after them. :)
Try to enjoy yourself while looking after them. It may not be such a chore.

The parents always say that the little kids just don't know any better, but we all know that they do. Well yeah partly because the little ones don't know any better most of the time. Other tomes they do it jokingly not knowing they are doing anyhting wrong and the older ones are usually just brats. I try not to get mad at the little ones. The older ones should know better. Why don't you talk to the parents about it?
I always think that younger kids get away with things. I babysit three 2 year olds, one 5 year old, and five 7 year olds. It's such a pain.Try do hang in there if you like your job and just wait tell they start babysitting.
Wow! That is quite a tough job you have. It sounds like these people expect too much of you. Maybe they need to have a talk with their kids about helping you out a little. The older kids need to take some responsibility and help out. Let them (the parents know) that you are doing your best and that you would like to get some help or you won't be able to watch their children any more.
