What age do they start taking toddlers for Gymnastics?
Answers:
I started my daughter at 18 months in a class called "Baby Gym" at our local rec center and she loved it so much we did "Toddler Gym" and on up. She just turned 4 and she has had exposure to balance beam, very low bar, parallel bars, trampoline, etc. In the last class she took, she was learning some floor routine stuff (not for competition, but just for practice/discipline). It was great to expend her energy and help her focus. The teacher was very encouraging -- firm, but she made it fun. Now we even put tape down on the floor and pretend its our balance beam at home. I will catch her from time to time practicing her rolls and handstand on her own for fun. (Usually it involved a lot of falling over, but she doesn't mind.) If you can find a situation where they teach it for fun, I highly recommend it. It's been great for my daughter.
Yes, she can go at age 3, that's when I enrolled my daughter. At that age they don't do much but roll around and play with each other, but it's good fun for them.
