How do you keep a three year old busy while at work?

My boyfriend has to watch his bosses three year old kid for a week while hes at work. Is there a way he can keep the child busy so that he can work?

Answers:
Toy cars, and trucks, balls are the best for a 3 year old.
Also, little kid movies like Thomas the Train.
I wouldn't advise giving a three year old crayons unless you want crayon all over. Colored pencils are a lot easier to clean up.

Other Answers:
daycare
crayons, paper, small toys. Oh, and some xanax for your husband.
Coloring, puzzles, coloring puzzles. Kids this age need toys that teach. Get him a puzzle of Africa along with a map of Africa, he can put the puzzle pieces on the map. Then he can color the map after you photocopy it so it's on white paper.

Give the child tasks to do, like ask him to pick this up or to draw you a picture of this.

Whatever you do, please do not sit the child in front of a tv the whole time, while it may be effective it is not stimulating enough to cause the child to think and learn very much.

works with preschoolers
tell her she can either go to her friends hous or take her to a realitives hous.
ANYTHING BUT MARKERS AND COLORS. tRY POPPIN IN A MOVIE OR GIVE THEM SOME TOYS TO PLAY WITH !
Crayola COLOR WONDER markers and finger paints--
NO MESS so you're boyfriend's stuff wont get trashed with crayon or pen:) leaves no mark on walls or the kid:)

another good thing would be to maybe have a tv/vcr or dvd with some toddler movies (bobbuilder, wiggles, dora) --

Another good thing handy is icepops toddlers love icepops:) Cheerio's and Goldfish COLORS are good todd snacks too:)

Toddlers need to be kept busy or they will get bored and a bored toddler is a destructive toddler... Make sure he has plenty of activities like the colorwonder to keep him busy- when he gets bored- just have him focus the todd's focus on something else- a movie for a bit- then back to coloring or fingerpainting maybe--

parent with a toddler:)
Coloring, puzzles, Kids this age need toys that teach.
Cereal.. used the ones with alot of color and different shapes, there really work
and give some pictures you don't really care to play
send him to a daycare where everybody speaks another language.
Plan your day. Some TV time or free time (crayons and paper, blocks, trucks etc, lunch time (eat with him/her and chit chat), outside time (use the cell phone and laptop), nap time, snack time, more TV time or free time (crayons and paper, blocks, trucks etc.

Get a baby gate to keep him/her where they belong. If they are really upset about not being with you take a few short breaks to spend some time.
