Why is it when I trim my sons hair while its wet it looks straight, but then it dries and looks horrible?!?

It doesn't help that he's 2 1/2 and refuses to sit still...

Answers:
i do my sons hair and do it when it is dry most barbars will cut boys hair dry try it, it is alot easier that way and you can see how it sits while you are doing it

Other Answers:
just leave it alone. It will straighten up after a few years.

Because when hair is wet it lays flatter and therefore longer, but when it dries it gains volume and therefore will be different that when it was wet. Cut it damp, or dry, not wet. Same reason you would cut your own bangs dry...then end up too short if you cut them wet. Because your not a hairdresser!

When hair dries it shrinks a bit so when you cut it a he is moving around it might look straight, but when it dries it doesn't. My advice take him to a barber shop, then you can sit with him or stand right with him and he might not move so much.

cut it damp not wet wet. comb it like he wears it and don't cut it to the length you like it. dry hair seems to shrink.

I am a hair dresser and a mother and have the magic answer!! Cowlicks and such make little ones hair act funny so, I recommend trimming his hair when he is in that car seat nap(trance) do it dry so you know how it will lay. It's OK if it's not perfect wet. Oh, this is also a GREAT time to trim little nails too. Good Luck!!!! Why are you cutting it when it is wet??
That's harder.
Get a trimmer and buzz it when it it dry, it's much easier than scissors.
