I started quite early, preschool age honestly, and it was a nice feeling and release, though later in life always wondered what was normal or does it depend on the individual. From what I gather, it's a normal, human need. It sounds like your son has discovered this, too, and it probably helps him in his own development.

(I know there are many views on this, but if an opposite-sex parent is walking around the house partially dressed or naked, it might be a good idea to consider a different route as children can be and are quite impressionable and easily stirred.)
