I have a 2 1/2 year old, and labour was the worst agony I've ever been through in my life. My labour was only 6 hours from start to finish, which was a lucky thing because we both nearly died from the effects of toxemia (pre-enclampsia)... oh, and it was too fast for "real" painkillers. Just the gas and whatever it was they kept injecting into me to try to get my blood pressure down... I was in too bad a shape to ask, and to this day I don't know...
There are many factors that can affect the pain/difficulty of the birth. Age (gets worse with age for first time mothers) and general health (the healthier you are, the better off you are) are two big factors.
Not meaning to scare you honey! You'll be fine!
A friend of mine had her first baby on Friday, and as I told her, DO WHATEVER IT TAKES!!!! If you think you might need an epidural, ask for it before you're in too much pain. Do whatever it takes for you to be alright and able to deliver your beautiful baby safely.
After the birth, you will look at that funny little face, and count those tiny fingers and toes, trace the curve of their little shell-shaped ears, and everything else will disappear.
Best of luck, big hug.

Yes, I have had a child and yes it does hurt. But as soon as you see the little one you would do it all over again in a second. Your Doctor will make you as comfortable as you can be but there is still a bit of pain. Good luck and congrats!!!

It hurts really bad. But some take pain betta than others. I had 4 shots and none of them worked...guess it depends on you. But it was bad enough for me to say I don't want anymore. Good luck!!! Yes, babe, it hurts. A lot. It's like no other pain you'll ever experience. But you have to keep in your mind that it will be over soon enough and you will have a beautiful baby to hold. Tell yourself that it's "pain with a purpose" and that will help you get through it. Also, tensing up makes the pain worse. Try to relax the best you can.
I recommend an epidural!

yes it will hurt but i recommend getting the epideral. i had twins and carried them to 38 weeks which for twins is to long i got the epideral and did not feel a thing. i had them vaginaly and between the two they weighed 14lb. 6 oz.so i was huge. my first kid i had to pain med. and i had him natural and it hurt like you know what.so get the med. i have a gf that she said shr pushed for just a little while and said it did not hurt and she didn't push that long. But i have also herad it depends on the woman. Well hope everything goes just fine for you.

I would be lying if I said it does not hurt.

HOWEVER - we live thank God in the time of pain reliefs.

So you could simply say you want an epidural (this is an injection in your spin and then you dont feel the pain anymor, but yopu can talk and sit and depending on the dose even walk) and they get everything ready. When you think the pain is to hard to bear - call for it and get the relief.

With this epidural you wont really feel pain. You will feel a pushing urge in the end and an uncomfortable feeling of pressure when the head comes.
The best feeling is the mooment the baby comes out fully and you feel this "emptiness" in your body...

Childbirth is a wonderful and unforgettable thing.
i congratulate you.

Are you really fifteen and get a Baby????

Compliments!!! You are a strong character.

If you would like to, i could put you in contact with a 17 year old girl who is also pregnant...I am sure she would apreciate the contact. just send me a mail and I put you two together.OK?

Good luck, all the best for the birth, dont panic, if you want to know anything more you can also always ask me, I have five small children and really know about this subject..

Again my compliments for your guts.

I have a 9 month old son. It is painful, but I was actually surprised when I had my son because people had made it up to be worse than what it was for me. When you go into labor you don't really think about the pain, I was more focused on my baby being okay. And once I started pushing I didn't even notice the pain because you focus on pushing and as soon as the baby's out it feels great, the pain goes away. Try not to worry about it hurting too much.

everyone does deal with pain differently and takes pain different so you really can't rely on other people to tell you how painful it is.

I had my daughter 5 weeks early, and was in labor for 3 days before i even knew i was. I had bad back labor, and to be honest with you my back hurt worse than anything else. I went all the way to 10 cm with no medicine. I won't lie sleeping was impossible for the 5 days i was in labor. at first it hurts alittle, then after that it's like you just start to get really annoyed. Finally after realizing that my child was breech they did give me a spinal, and do a c-section. The pain is more iritating then painful. It only gets really bad towards the end when it's time to push, and then the pushing actuallt gives you some relief. It is not unbearable. And i am 7 months pregnant, and not nearly as scared as i was the first time. Good Luck, not that you will need it! ooooooooooo YES it does i was in labour for 37 hours and i thought i would die but it is alll worth it i cant wait to have my second one
