How irresponsible can they get? This goes for the guys also. Dont they know that a pregnancy will most likely result from their foolishness. Take protection for crying out loud and save that poor innocent baby of having been born into an unsure environment. Consider the consequences you young people. For the newborns sake.

this is true but some 16 year olds who hav the babies are also very mature. first of all the take the responsibilty of having the baby and look after it instead of aborting it and taking the easy way out. even 16 is very young to have a baby and take on such a role i know that some 16 year olds are fabouls mothers and drop the rest of their teens to take care of the foolishness they did. and for that i give them respect

Welcome to society honey. It sucks, but you made one key mistake in your argument. "Consider the consequences". Teens think they are immortal and can never do wrong, so they ignore the consequences. I know I did as a teen, and I am sure to some extent you did too. I totally agree with you. That generation lacks the discipline and parenting to know the real affects of being pregnant and the resposibility.

I had my first child at 25!! I shiver EVERY time I see a teenager with THEIR baby!! I'm now 41 and have 4 children altogether..and I had my last one at 39...I would have waited until later to even have the first one. These schools should have a class on "being a teenage parent" with REAL babies..not these dolls! Then let's see how careful the teen GIRLS are after that!! My 5 yr old would have made any teen girl say NO to sex...he's a little terror! LOL Parents now in days only think about them selfs and trying to stay young they dont want to teach there kids about STD's getting pregnant or anything else and they want attention but if you really come to think about it 16 year olds are having sex with 20 something year old guys so think about what I said

tramps, and having babies at young ages is idealized to stupid young ladies. when you have high school girls crowding around a young pregnant girl that's when they get the idea in their heads that it's ok. yay for medicare. the world is ending soon anyway so kudos for them, probably just creating the last generation at an early age.

It is very bad. Both men and women don't have a steady source of income to support kids, even themselves. They are irresponsible. They don't think about their consequences. They don't know how to understand that they still have a whole future ahead of them to have children and can wait until they have a job and be married to each other. Teenagers who are pregnant and get other girls pregnant are stupid. They think that are cool to be a father or a mother so quick, but actually they are not. It is the opposite.

Yeah, its a problem, but the teen pregnancy rate is actually declining, and is a decent bit lower than it was in earlier years. Teen pregnancy has been around forever. In today's society its hard to fuinction as a teen mother, but (Im still laughing at the answer that we need to go back to traditional values) it was once the norm- Mary Ingalls Wilder (Little House on the Prairie) was 13 when she married, Romeo and Juliet were both 13, etc. So saying to go back to those traditional values mean it should happen even more often. At least we are seeing a downward trend today though, as teens use more protection and are more aware of the negative impact it has on their lives. hoes what can i say well accually all i can say is i made it through 16 and 17 with out getting pregnant THANK GOD

I think it all boils down to the parents and not loving their children or teaching them morals. So many people seem to think that it is someone else's responsibility to teach their children these kinds of things. A moderate return to older values and traditions would be good, I think. We don't need to become Quaker's or anything that extreme, but we need to instill values and responsibility in our children.

yeah i know, they get worse every year. when i had a bf my senior year in highschool, we were together for about a year. i was totaly like Pro for virginity and all that, so i had my bf under my decisions. i taught him the idea of keeping clean until the time is right and he learned and respected. 6 months after our break up, he got his following 17 year old gf pregnant.

Our society has lead us to the fact of not punishing our children. Therefore they are able to do what they want when they want to without the fear of great and cruel punishment.I believe if we went back to spanking children there would be a fear instilled in them that if they do wrong then they would have to face a possible punishment there would be far less children having children. I blame the parent for not teaching the teens the act of sex leads to pregnancy STD'S and AIDS. Kids will be kids but without proper role models and proper education they will make mistakes. (1) When your own mother and aunts entered parenthood at an early age, it seems a natural and usual occurance. It is very difficult for a young person to reject the "family tradition" and "invent" a whole different way of living, in effect rejecting the people they love.

(2) There are three things most of us want. To be loved by someone. To have someone to love. To have something meaningful to do with our time. When you are 14 years old and all these things are lacking in your life, becoming a mother is an understandable response.

These statements are to EXPLAIN and not EXCUSE such poor choices.

And BTW, where there is 15 y o mommy, you might be expecting a 16 y o daddy in the picture. This is incorrect. Most of the daddies are grown men in their 20s and 30s.

you know what i think about theses 16 year old girls getting pregnant i think the only reason they get that way is to get attention that what i think just like my boyfriends sister-in-law she got pregnant because she thought i was and what's bad the daddy don't even want it, so all you girls out there that are young and want to have children well you better think as hard as you can before you miss up you guys to then your partying and hanging out with your friends all the time will come to a end but any ways i just wanted to share that with you guys First off ppqna.com is for asking and getting answers, this 'question' isn't really a question at all but a self rightous act.
