i had a sonogram yesterday and they said they couldnt see the baby could it be that im just to early?

Doctors took a blood test and i am in fact pregnant i had no spotting or bleeding

Answers:
Yeah, it sounds like it may be too early. When I look at pics online to see the growth of my baby (i'm 5 weeks along) the earliest pics they show are 7 weeks along.

Other Answers:
It could be too early but I would wait and see what happens.

Could be that the `baby` is hiding.I had a ultrasound ( sonogram) when i was pregnant with my twins and at first they told me that there was only one but 2 weeks later there was 2 so it is possible....good luck. They should have answered that question while you were still in the Dr.'s office.Best wishes:)

ohh believe me he or she is there....Doctor found 2 of them 11 mos ago.....erggggggggg hope you just have one lol

How far along are you? Sonograms aren't usually ordered until the 7th week or later. The smaller it is, the harder it will be to see.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Because the size of the fetus is so small early on, many sonograms are not ordered until at least the 6th week of pregnancy. I had an ultrasound when I was six weeks pregnant and the baby only measured 0.57cm, although we could see a heartbeat! They do grow quite a lot in a short time! I just had my 12 week ultrasound and the baby measuring 5.5cm. Sometimes at around 5 to 5.5 weeks a gestational sac can be seen in the uterus.

Your doctors probably would have checked your hCG level (the pregnancy hormone)when they did blood tests. In a normal and healthy pregnancy these rates rise and double in a 48 hour period. Perhaps this gave you some extra information :)

God bless

It could be. It depends on how far along you are. Talk to your doctor.

Good luck!

I had my first ultrasound at 6 weeks. The doctor could see a baby then and she looked like a little hamster with a flashing light on it (her heart).
Your doctor should have been able to see your baby, no matter how far along you were. Which type of ultrasound did they do?
