Can anyone tell me how many weeks into a pregnancy will they start doing a pelvic exam?

I am 34 weeks into my pregnancy but he is inducing me a week early. I have an appointment today and am wondering if he is going to start doing pelvic exams. I am wondering if I need to clean up...if you know what I mean. And also curious...if doctors even care what it looks like down there...a forest or not? Thanks for your help!

and no, your doctor doesn't care what you look like down there, he isn't there for fun. I'm sure your doctor has seen some really bad looking women on his table.
if you are really self conscience about it, you can trim, but you shouldn't shave. shaving causes very small nicks which can harbor bacteria, which could be passed to your baby in delivery.

I had pelvic exam 2 weeks before my due dates but you never know, i wouldn't worry bout it being a forest, they will have seen far worse.
Just think of all those women who have no personal hygiene!

the doc may do one --- so clean up. The way you wear your pelvic area does not matter to them. I will tell you though that clean shaven is best for having the baby due to all the gunk that you will pass after birth. It will be easier to deal with the odor and clean up each time in the bathroom. If you mean douche, don't. you should not douche while pregnat or shortly after you have the baby, and doctors don't care, they've seen it all. I think I was about 34 weeks when I had a pelvic exam. but since he is inducing you early, then that would make sense b/c he wants to see how far along you are as far as dilating and such.If you're worried about being clean down in that area, after going to the bathroom use 1 or 2 baby wipes(unscented).And if you're still concerned talk to your Dr. he/she should be able to answer all your questions.

According to my Doc. you start having internal exams at 36 weeks, to see if you have started to open up. Oh and yest you should always clean up as best you can.

i'll be 35 weeks saturday and i've had one...and that was at the very beginning and from my understanding im not going to have another until labor so i dont know just ask your doctor haha and i dont imagine doctors care what it looks like down there they see them so much they all look the same
