if you had to wait a week the last time - chances are you will always have to wait a week. its your body system.
Sometimes you do have to wait a week or two it depends on how sensitive the test is. A blood test is the only way to know really early
It could be that you really aren't and the reason that you have not had a cycle yet is because of some sort of stress and some other reason.

do you have other symptoms? I assume "the last time" means you were pregnant before. So you should be familar with the early symptoms - nausea, fatigue, tender breasts, etc. If you have those symptoms wait another two weeks and retest. If that test comes up negative, go to the doctor and let them test you or at least figure out why you skipped your cycle.
Well give it a week. Sometimes it takes longer for your body to build up that hormone. If your stressing out about it then maybe your the reason that you haven't started. I know everytime I was waiting for it ...it was always late. But if you want to be pregnant then...I hope that you are...and if you don't want to be...then I hope it works out for you...but just chill out and stop stressing. If it doesn't start soon ....make yourself a doctors appt. they can draw blood and tell you for sure....
Your probably just late but good luck because it will happen soon. It took me a year to become pregnant and i had been late three times before.

If the home kit still shows negative.. then i would suggest an ultrasound scan. A thickening of the womb lining would tell if u are pregnant.

Are you sure your late? How many days long are your cycles? Do you have any pregnancy symptoms like sore nipples, back ache, frequent urination, nausea??? Any extra stress, or major problem may caused you to ovulate later than normal so your period is gonna be late. Most women don't know that.
Wait till it has been a week and test again. Now you know why most Health Dept. make you wait till your two weeks late b/4 giving a pregnancy test. If still BFN (big fat neg.) then you need to make an appointment with your OBGYN.
